The manufacturing process of hollow plastic balls is much more complex than that of solid plastic balls. There are several methods for manufacturing hollow plastic balls:
1. The manufacturing of ordinary plastic hollow balls is carried out using blow molding technology. The plastic hollow balls produced by blow molding technology are generally aimed at plastic hollow balls with low quality requirements and no special requirements for appearance and strength. Blow molded plastic hollow balls have strong material selectivity and can only be produced using PP and PE materials, and the thickness of plastic hollow balls cannot be precisely controlled, There is also the phenomenon of uneven wall thickness of plastic hollow balls, so many blow molded plastic hollow balls are used in situations where fillers or electroplating solutions are used for covering.
2. Plastic hollow balls are manufactured using adhesive technology: To produce two plastic hollow hemispheres, the joints of the plastic hollow hemispheres need to be properly fastened. First, apply glue to the fastened positions of the two plastic hemispheres, then fasten them together and place them together after the glue solidifies. This is the finished plastic hollow plastic ball. The plastic balls produced by the adhesive technology have low strength and are sensitive to temperature, It is easy to crack under high and low temperature conditions, so its practicality is not very strong.
3. Manufacturing of plastic hollow ball fusion welding process: Firstly, two plastic hemispheres need to be manufactured. The difference from the plastic hemispheres used for adhesive is that they do not need to be fastened. Firstly, the two hemispheres need to be placed in a set of fusion welding molds. The joints of the fusion welding molds will be thinner. The assembled molds are placed in a dedicated furnace for heating. When the plastic at the joints melts and fuses together, the molds are taken out and cooled, Taking out the plastic hollow ball is a semi-finished plastic hollow ball. The semi-finished plastic hollow ball is then processed by a dedicated hollow plastic ball grinding machine. The joint of the precision hollow plastic ball is integrated with other positions of the entire plastic ball, with no difference in strength, consistent wall thickness, and beautiful appearance. It is currently the best manufacturing method for precision plastic hollow balls.
4. Manufacturing of plastic hollow balls using ultrasonic welding technology: Ultrasonic welding of plastic hollow balls also uses two plastic hemispheres for ultrasonic welding. However, the plastic hollow balls welded by ultrasonic welding need to be continuously buckled out of the two hemispheres. During ultrasonic welding, the two semi-circular plastic hollow balls need to be first buckled together and then placed under the ultrasonic machine for ultrasonic welding, The material selection of plastic hollow balls for ultrasonic welding is limited, and only hard plastic can be used for welding. Moreover, the welding strength is not high, and ultrasonic technology is suitable for welding plastic hollow balls with strength requirements.
